Following the launch of Omnipulse, a zero-to-one lead generation tool I designed, I shifted my focus to the core product experience. While Omnipulse transformed complex data into an immediate "value moment," the challenge was ensuring this insight translated into long-term activation. As Founding Product Designer, I led the end-to-end redesign to digitize a high-touch manual process and evolve the platform into an Agentic Growth Partner —an intelligent engine that proactively captures revenue opportunities for business owners.

To scale Obenan, I had to bridge the gap between a high-touch manual service and a cost-effective, automated product.

External:

  • The Manual Setup Bottleneck: Initial onboarding required a 45-minute in-person walkthrough. This non-scalable, high-friction entry point prevented users from reaching the product independently.



  • Passive Data Display: The original product was a static repository of metrics that required manual interpretation, failing to provide the "automation" that business owners actually desired.


  • Transparency Gap: The lack of a pricing strategy made it difficult for users to understand the value of upgrading from a free tool to premium automation.


Internal:

  • Engineering Velocity vs. Migration:  Moving to a new product version required a fundamental rewrite of legacy data structures. I faced the high-stakes challenge of maintaining design velocity without overwhelming engineering capacity during a complete architectural rebuild.

  • Technical Uncertainty: The product vision required a shift from simple, rule-based logic to a predictive AI system, creating a "moving target" for the UI while the underlying technology was still in development. I faced the high-stakes challenge of delivering "agentic" value and a premium feel without a fully realized AI model or a sustainable data budget.

Where Friction Lived

I viewed the redesign as a Product Narrative challenge: ensuring the value promised in acquisition (Omnipulse) transitioned seamlessly into long-term retention.

  • The Strategic Filter (See → Act → Grow): I used this framework as a lens to audit the product roadmap. It acted as a high-stakes evaluation tool: if a feature didn't help a customer See a problem, Act on a solution, or Grow their business, it was deprioritized to maintain narrative focus.

  • Dynamic Triage & Migration Strategy: To manage engineering velocity during the legacy data rewrite, I led real-time triage sessions to align design requirements with technical capacity. This involved a high-stakes balance: maintaining the familiar features users relied on while reframing the core experience for agentic growth. To mitigate user frustration during this transition, I advocated for a Beta Opt-in strategy, designing a launch framework that allowed us to gather evidence-backed feedback from a subset of users before a full-scale migration.

  • The Intelligence Roadmap: I collaborated with the CEO to bridge the gap between technical possibility and user value. I focused on designing a flexible UX framework that felt "intelligent" using current data thresholds but was architecturally ready to accommodate more robust, AI-driven insights as the backend matured.

  • Knowledge Synthesis: I utilized an AI-driven workflow to distill customer support logs and sales demo recordings. This allowed me to translate broad user frustrations into specific, evidence-backed design pillars centered on agentic automation.

  • Progressive Activation: I replaced the 45-minute in-person walkthrough with a staged, directed flow. This self-serve journey allows users to realize value independently and ensures a seamless transition from the initial Omnipulse report to active product use.

  • The "Growth Plan” Trial: I championed a strategy where users were automatically placed on a 14-day premium "Growth Plan" trial after their first action, letting them experience premium automation for free.

The Redesigned Product Experience

  • Narrative Continuity: I bridged the gap between acquisition and retention by weaving the "Omnipulse intelligence" directly into the core product. Personalized competitor comparisons and performance assessments were integrated as contextual triggers throughout the UI to motivate immediate user action.

  • Simplified Workflows: I overhauled the UX for core tools like ai powered review replies and Google posts, streamlining the "Act" stage to make managing a digital presence intuitive and frictionless.

  • Actionable Dashboard Intelligence: I overhauled the core product experience to replace static, abstract metrics with actionable natural language summaries paired with relevant visualizations. This allows business owners to understand their standing instantly without the need for manual interpretation.

  • Cost-Efficient "Agentic" UX: To manage API cost risks, I designed the interface to prioritize high-impact, rule-based insights first. This allowed the product to feel "intelligent" and proactive without requiring expensive, constant data processing or a fully realized AI model on day one.

  • The North Star: From Manager to "Strategic Approver": I worked with the CEO to define a future state where the user no longer performs manual labor, but instead acts as an approver of AI-driven growth loops. In this model, the system identifies real-time market opportunities—such as a 50% spike in local keyword searches—and suggests specific optimizations (like menu updates) that the user can execute with a single tap to capture immediate revenue.
